The Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open kicked off on Wednesday with four different events, and the first one to reach the finish line and award a trophy was the Seniors Event, which played for more than 15 hours before the final three players agreed to an even chop.

As chipleader, Dan Van Dyke was awarded the title and the trophy.

“I’ve never won a trophy before,” said Van Dyke, “so I’m excited to win one.”

There were 214 entries, generating a prizepool worth $71,690, and the final 27 players finished in the money.

“I think they do a great job running the tournaments here,” said Van Dyke. “I also play in Tampa and Vegas, and this is probably my favorite place.”
