Raminder Singh won his seventh major Hollywood title earlier in the series and Michael Newman with five was not about to let him get too far ahead on the all-time list. He rolled through the $400 Turbo No Limit Hold’em tournament and earned his sixth trophy plus $7,573 after a five-way deal.
Newman’s previous five victories came with some big payouts including a win in the 4,058-entry 2019 LHPO Ultimate Re-Entry tournament for $181,025 and he was the SHRP Rock ‘N’ Roll Poker Open Champion in 2017 for another $374,240.
2016 SHRPO – $570 No Limit Hold’em
2016 RRPO – $360 Pot Limit Omaha
2017 LHPO – $570 Six-Max Pot Limit Omaha
2017 RRPO – $3,500 RRPO Championship
2019 LHPO – $360 Ultimate Re-Entry
2021 SHRPO – $400 Turbo NLH
Newman’s sixth SHRP Hollywood title ties him with three-time WPT Champion Brian Altman on the all-time win list and one behind Singh and David Prociak.
Congrats to Michael on the historic win and we’ll see you in November for the 2021 Rock ‘N’ Roll Poker Open!
