The Omaha 8/Stud 8 tournament returned from dinner break and we found two big stacks while they were gone. Nicholas Marsico is out front with 68,000 and followed closing by SHRP four-card regular Brian Gelrod with 66,000.

There are 39 players remaining with 13 getting paid and seven making the OE final table.

The Omaha 8/Stud 8 tournament was sent on their 40-minute dinner break but not before we noticed the 97th player to enter the tournament.

Scott Baumstein was in the Seminole Ballroom until the early morning hours, busy winning the $600 Double Black Chip Bounty NLH title. It was his second major SHRP trophy going along nicely with his 2018 WPTDeepStacks Hollywood Main Event title.

The numbers are in and the record-setting number of 97 players took part in the Omaha 8/Stud 8 Freeze-Out to create a prize pool worth $32,495. The tournament will pay out the last 13 players with $780 going for a min-cash and $9,095 awaiting the OE champion later this evening.

Another LHPO tournament and another record. Omaha 8/Stud 8 is a specialty game but players came out to get in the action. Registration closed after the second break with 97 entries creating our biggest OE field, topping the 91 entries from the 2018 Poker Showdown tournament.

Tournament staff are running the numbers and we will publish prize pool and payout information as soon as it is available.

We are one hour into the Omaha 8/Stud 8 game and it’s already guaranteed to be one of our biggest ever. There are already 70 in the mix with more than two hours to push it higher. If they didn’t get a single additional entry, it would be our third biggest OE field.

David Shmuel is among the players here early and looking for his fifth SHRP title. A win here would be his first OE title to go along with his No Limit Hold’em and Omaha titles.

AJ Kelsall is making his first appearance in the Seminole Ballroom this series. The former SHRP H.O.R.S.E. champ cashed six times this summer during the WSOP online series including a big win in Global Casino Championship.

Keeping things interesting with another mix game in the Seminole Ballroom. Event 11 is a $400 tournament that will switch games between Limit Omaha 8 and Seven-Card Stud 8 every eight hands. A lot of split pots to save the day.

They’ll sit down to 12,000 starting stacks and run 30 minutes levels front to back. Late registration is available until the start of Level 9 at 3:30 pm but the Freeze-Out format means no re-entries allowed. Players will take a 40-minute dinner break at 5 pm and then come back to find our next mix champion.

Cards go in the air at 11 am and we will be here all day.
