Jon Turner

While Table 7 was heading off on break, Table 6 was still in a hand. Jon “Pearljammer” Turner was all in and at risk against starting Day 3 chip leader Nick Yunis.

Turner: As4s
Yunis: AhTd

Turner was outkicked and dominated. The KhKc9c2cJd runout did not help Turner and he was sent out on the last hand of the level.

Nick Yunis – 4,050,000 (51 bb)
Jon Turner – Eliminated in 17th place ($11,930)

Tony Tran

The fast pace of the day continued when Tony Tran three-bet shoved for 485,000 after Daniel Eichhorn opened. The all-in was called and Tran needed help.

Tran: KhTh
Eichhorn: AcJc

Tran had two live cards but that changed when Eichhorn hit the Js4h3s flop. The Td turn and 5h river completed the board to send the WPT Champions Club member out in 19th place.

Tournament staff announced dealers to hold up after their current hand for a two-table redraw. But they had some business to deal with on Table 6. Steven Game was all in and Voytek Glab had him at risk

Glab: QcJc
Game: AhTc

Game was ahead for the double but Glab hit the Jd6c6h flop. He improved to a full house on the Jh turn and the 5c river sent him out to get the field down to 17 players.

Main Event: Stephen Leahy Eliminated by David Inselberg 5w2h3d

Stephen Leahy

The blinds increased and Stephen Leahy made a move soon after. He open-shoved for 580,000 from under the gun and David “Coldstone” Inselberg reshipped next to act for 1,150,000. The rest of the table released and the cards were tabled.

Inselberg: KdKh
Leahy: 3s3c

“Nice hand,” Leahy told Inselberg as he rapped the table.

The board ran Qh7s2c4h2d and Leahy was sent out in 21st place.

David Inselberg – 1,900,000 (24 bb)
Stephen Leahy – Eliminated in 21st place ($9,940)

While Leahy was running into Inselberg’s monster, Randy Spain was eliminated in 20th place to leave the Main Event one elimination away from a two-table redraw.

Antonio De La Cruz

After two limpers, Pedro Aldave shoved from the big blind for 970,000. Not his first shot with his stack today. Antonio De La Cruz called in the hijack with a similar stack.

Aldave: 4h4c
De La Cruz: As9h

It was a flip but Aldave moved way ahead on the 4d3d2h flop. De La Cruz had a wheel draw but blanked the 8d turn and Jh river to send the pot to Aldave. It took a minute to count down both stacks and Aldave had De La Cruz slightly covered.

Pedro Aldave – 2,200,000 (36 bb)
Antonio De La Cruz – Eliminated in 25th place ($6,660)

Stephen Leahy

We had fireworks right out of the gates with some big hands. Stephen Leahy took an early short with his short stack and open-shoved for 465,000 from the cutoff and Tony Tran called in the big blind after a short think.

Tran: KcJc
Leahy: AdAh

Leahy held a monster and the board ran Td8s7dQdQh. For a moment, Leahy thought Tran made a straight to bust him but he happily took the chips.

Stephen Leahy – 1,020,000 (17 bb)
Tony Tran – 1,025,000 (17 bb)

In the meantime, Scott Zakheim was sent out in 27th place followed by Malik King in 26th.
