Seminole Hard Rock Tampa poker ambassador, Wally Maddah
Event 2 is quietly moving along in the meeting room and players are taking their second break of the day. They will close down registration when they restart the tournament and we’ll have our official numbers shortly thereafter.
One of the later entrants was Seminole Hard Rock Tampa poker ambassador Wally Maddah. The Tampa pro worked his way through a long flight last night in Event 1, bagged 83K and had a few days to kill before Day 2 on Sunday. Instead of enjoying a few days off, he jumped into the Omaha/8 to mix things up.
The Omaha/8 tables continue to fill up as they move through their quiet day in the meeting room. We’re seeing more regular faces jump in the game including Joel Harwood (pictured), Errol Massey, defending champ Jordan Chizick, and multiple Omaha/8 champ Robert Campbell.
Harwood is the father of Seminole Hard Rock Poker team member Loni Harwood and he can hold his own with anyone in the room. He holds an H.O.R.S.E. title from the Everglades Poker Open in September but looking for his first Omaha/8 title after several close calls. Harwood has finished second in five Omaha tournament with the last coming in this event last year when Chizick claimed the trophy.
While the big Event 1 field plays out in the ballroom, our first trophy will be awarded later this evening in the meeting room across the hallway. Event 2 is a $300 Omaha/8 tournament with a group of talented players.
An intimate affair ifor the four-card specialist including defending champ Jordan Chiznick. He won his second career SHRP title last April in the Omaha/8 event and followed that up with another Omaha/8 tournament win in August during the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open.

This is a one-day tournament and we will crown our first champion before the day is complete.
