Jason Ehlen returns for Day 2 with the chip lead
Six starting flights for Event 1 were locked down last night and the opening event of the 2017 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown created a massive field. The tournament drew 3,107 entries to push the $500,000 guaranteed prize pool over $900,000 and 605 players are still around with a chance for some of that money.
Jason Ehlen bagged up an impressive 346,500 Saturday evening and he carries the chip lead into the restart today with former SHRP Champion Victor Figueroa also sitting in the top ten. Other notables returning include Seminole Hard Rock Tampa ambassador Wally Maddah, Ryan Dunn, Rafael Reis, former WSOP Ladies event champs Marsha Wolak and Jacquelyn Scott along with Seminole Hard Rock Poker team Darryll Fish, Mukul Pahuja, Jessica Dawley, Michael Laake, and Stewart Newman.
Event 1 will now switch over to 40-minute levels and they will have plenty of room to make their moves. But we will see a burst of activity at the beginning as short stacks try to make a move up the counts. With 300 players earning a piece of the prize pool, we expect the money bubble to hit between the first two breaks of the day.
Cards are set to fly at 1pm and we’ll be here from start to finish tracking the action.
Top ten returning stacks:
Jason Ehlen – 346,500 (116 bb)
Jan Ziegler – 318,000 (106 bb)
Henry Meacham – 314,000 (105 bb)

Greg Black

Jeff Trudeau
Jeff Trudeau has grown a monster stack throughout Flight F transforming his 20,000 starting chips into better than 250,000 to start the final level of the night. Trudeau leads his flight, and if it were to wrap now, would bag a top 15 Day 2 stack.
Trudeau is no rookie when it comes to Seminole success. He owns three titles and a runner-up here at the Hard Rock along with another runner-up at Coconut Creek.
With 30 minutes left in the day, anything could happen for Trudeau who’s trailed by a tough field.

Mike Laake
Mike Laake holds roughly 170,000 chips and looks to bag the top stack for team Seminole Hard Rock Poker. As of now, Darryll Fish, Jessica Dawley and Mukul Pahuja have all advanced. Pahuja leads the group in the clubhouse with 81,500, a figure Laake has already doubled.
Roughly another hour remains in Flight F and the complete Day 2 chip counts will be posted when available.

Asher Conniff
With Level 11 boasting a 1,200 big blind, the 696-entry field has more than chopped in half. One player making his way through the monster event with about 30 big blinds is Asher Conniff. Conniff experienced some rungood this summer when his name was drawn for the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open’s Win-a-Seat contest. Conniff won a free $5,250 entry in the series’ $5,000,000 guaranteed Championship.
The property is again running a Win-a-Seat contest, this time for the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown. To enter, simply provide your name, e-mail address and zip code. One lucky winner will be drawn March 28th and they’ll receive a free $3,500 seat in the series’ $2,000,000 guaranteed Championship.
