Registration closed in Flight E of Event 8, a $150 no limit hold’em re-entry tournament, about an hour ago. The fifth of six starting flights drew 189 entries bring the five-flight total to 997 and officially pushing the prize pool past its $100,000 guarantee with tonight’s flight F still to go.

Michelle Shah’s aces couldn’t hold

After a small slowdown in the action, Table 8 saw a huge pot with a three-way all-in and big hands all around.

Shah was in a great position for the double up until the dealer spread the KcTh5h flop. The board ran clean for Telker’s set to give him the double elimination.

While that was going on, Stephen Diamantas and Abbey Daniels were going out on the other table to put them on the final table bubble. Which promptly burst when Telker was knocked out even after collecting all those chips.

Salomon Ponte (Toronto, Ontario)

Yesterday’s $1,100 WPTDeepStacks Lucky Hearts Poker Open Main Event champion, Salomon Ponte, is back in action here in Event 12. He bested 1,684 entries to earn better than $344,000 in prize money just about 24 hours ago. A 26-year-old A, the victory marked Ponte’s largest tournament score to date.

He’s a new entry here in today’s noon event and shares a table with Seminole Hard Rock Poker Player of the Year contender Timothy Miles.
