Ronald Sullivan (top right) knocks out Edward Gilfillan (bottom right)

Edward Gilfillan and Tim Kegel were two of the shortest stacks coming back for Day 2 and both took a failed early shot to double.

Gillfillan moved all-in after an open from Ronald Sullivan and got a call. Gilfillan was ahead with Ah5h against QhJh but Sullivan hit the KdKcQs flop and turned a boat with the Qd to send Gilfillan out in 17th.

Kegel’s bust out hand was more standard, he ran his AhJs straight into Raymond Roberty’s AsAc to go out in 16th.

Event 9: Ryan Dunn Tops Tough Final Table for Outright Victory ($140,000) 2z5t59

2016 Lucky Hearts Poker Open
Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino
Event 9
$2,650 No Limit Hold’em (Single Re-Entry)
Total Entries: 185
Prize Pool: $500,000
January 17-19, 2016

Ryan Dunn (Tallahassee, FL)

The biggest buy-in event of the 2016 Lucky Hearts Poker Open delivered an excellent final table, with over $25,000,000 in career poker tournament winnings between the nine players. When it was all said and done, 29-year-old Ryan Dunn was the last man standing after a grueling 10-hour final table and three-hour heads-up duel.

An environmental business owner, Dunn plays poker recreationally. He final tabled the WPT bestbet Bounty Scramble in November, finishing in fifth place for just more than $90,000. However, following that close call and a few other smaller results, Dunn was determined to emerge from this difficult field and final table victorious.

“I wanted to get over the hump and stick to my guns. You don’t get this kind of opportunity that often – to play heads up for a lot of money, especially in this tough of a field,” Dunn told us afterward. “When I got to heads up (despite railbirds for both players relentlessly urging both players to make a deal), I just decided let’s do this. I knew it would just feel so much better really winning this, and fortunately I did.”

Final Table Results
1st: Ryan Dunn (Tallahassee, FL) – $140,000
2nd: Charbel Azzi (Methuen, MA) – $82,500
3rd: Bryan Piccioli (Allegany, NY) – $47,500
4th: Jack Duong (South Plainfield, NJ) – $38,500
5th: Michael Laake (Punta Gorda, FL) – $30,000
6th: Sam Panzica (Saline, MI) – $25,000
7th: Aaron Massey (Elmwood Park, IL) – $20,000
8th: Hans Winzeler (Miami, FL) – $15,000
9th: Jonathan Duhamel (Boucherville, Quebec, Canada) – $10,000
