We’ve just leveled up in Event 17 and as expected it’s been moving quickly after the money bubble. We’ve already dropped to 38 players looking to try to capture the top prize of $20,659.
With the conclusion of today’s play in the championship event, two events still remain in action today.
Event 17, the $150 No Limit Hold’Em Re-Entry $50,000 guaranteed tournament, is into Day 2. The players just hit the money and the event is now down to 41 players.
The final event on the calendar, Event 20, is also pushing toward a finish. This $250 No Limit Hold’Em Re-Entry $30,000 guaranteed event is now on break and down to 31 players left chasing the final title on the schedule.
$150 No-Limit Hold’em (Re-entry) Level 14: 1,200/2,400/400 Ante
Barry Chazen blew everyone out of the water today.
Chazen finished over 100,000 chips ahead of his nearest opponent to easily win Day 17A with a massive 322,500 chips.
Only one other player even cleared the 200,000 chip level as Stuart Greenbaum bagged 207,000 to finish in second for this evening’s play. Josias Santos followed close behind at 192,500 for third.
Other big stacks included Roberto Caprio at 155,000, David Maddox and Diakonis Vasilios both bagged 151,000, Yves Fequiere ended up with 147,500, Richard Tintera finished at 137,500 and Hany Ayoub was close behind at 136,000.
At the end of the night, 28 players advanced out of 250 entries and will come back on Tuesday at 5 PM to resume play.
They will be awaiting the rest of the players who will them from Day 17B. Play for that flight starts tomorrow at 5 PM.
