Jared Jaffee didn’t have much luck after his hand set versus rivered straight hand with Brian Altman and he came up short in his quest for a second WPT title.

It was three-ways to the 8s8c3h flop and Sanjay Gehi checked first to act. Kelly Minkin bet out 285,000 and Jaffee responded with a shove for his final 1,045,000. Minkin took her time, asked for a count, and finally called with 7h7c. Jaffee needed help with Ac3c but couldn’t get there when it finished 6sQs to go out in 10th place for $39,437.

Jared Jaffee has been battling all day but took a bit of a hit after the break. He limped from the small blind then called after Brian Altman raised to 180,000. The both checked the KcTc6s flop and Jaffee checked again after the 7c turn.

Altman bet 225,000 and Jaffee called to the 9d river. Jaffee checked once again to see Altman bet out 410,000 to get Jaffee shaking his head.

He finally called to see Altman’s Th8h running straight before he showed his flopped set 6h6d. The hand moved Altman near 10,000,000 for the Championship while Jaffee was done near 2,000,000.
