RECAP
This $100K big buy-in event was stacked with talented poker superstars such as Jason Mercier, Dan Smith, Josh Arieh, and Scott Seiver. Seiver came into the Day 2 final table as the commanding chip leader with 5 players left. However, when the dust settled after over 8 hours of play it was high stakes tournament expert Jake Schindler that rose to the top of this power-packed field to take down the $570,375 top prize. Seiver ended up finishing 3rd for $50,000.
Schindler said that he definitely ranks this win pretty high up on his list of poker accomplishments. “It had really, really tough competition…but not a lot of players, so the hands were way more difficult than average,” Schindler said after the win. He mentioned that one of his short term goals is to find a place to live. Today’s win will definitely help towards that.
Schindler also wanted to make note “The Hard Rock did a really really good job by making things right, and adding money to the prize pool for 3rd place and fixing the discrepancy from yesterday. I commend them for that, that was really good management.” He also said that he didn’t expect the final table to last so long, expecting it would have ended maybe a few hours earlier. Heads-up play alone lasted for over 2.5 hours. Ryan Fee ends up taking 2nd place for $307,125.
This is Schindler’s fourth high roller final table in this year alone. He placed 3rd in a High Roller event this summer for $549,450. Today’s win amount is second only to his win at the High Roller event at this year’s Pokerstars Caribbean Adventure, where he won $1,192,624.
