Level 28: Blinds 25k/50k/5k ante

Russell Thomas began the day near the bottom of the chip counts but found two hard ways to get his stack moving in the right direction.

Thomas doubled up in an early hand against Natasha Barbour with AcKs against AcQd. Barbour flopped a Queen but Thomas rivered a gutshot Broadway straight.

As the level was coming to an end, he was all-in for 925,000 with As2h against Dan Colman’s AhTh. Thomas was looking at the rail until the dealer dropped Aces up for him on the AcKh2d flop. The 2012 November Niner now sits with a few chips over 2,000,000.

Players are now off on their first 15-minute break with 13 players remaining.

Championship: 14th Place – Uri Kadosh 713s35

$5,300 Championship NLH $10 Million Guaranteed (Re-Entry)
Level 28: Blinds 25k/50k/5k ante

Uri Kadosh was the shortest stack returning today and picked a good spot to double up. He open-shoved for 525,000 and Mike Leah called on the button. Dan Colman folded 9h7h face up, which made an impact when Leah showed 9s9d against the QhQc.

The dealer immediately put the case Nine in the window on the 9c8s3s flop. Kadosh jumped out of his seat and he couldn’t hit his own miracle on the 6d turn or Js river. It was a tough one-outer to send him to the rail in 14th place for $77,326.

Championship: 15th Place – Matthew Sedgeman m1pe

$5,300 Championship NLH $10 Million Guaranteed (Re-Entry)
Level 28: Blinds 25k/50k/5k ante

Matthew Sedgeman shoved a few times early in the level to pick up a few chips but he finally found someone to give him action. He was all-in and racing against Dan Colman, his AdTd versus 7s7h. Sedgeman found no love from the dealer when the board ran out 6c5h2d9cJh to send him out in 15th place for $77,326.

Championship: 16th Place – Jacob Naquin 2o212h

$5,300 Championship NLH $10 Million Guaranteed (Re-Entry)
Level 28: Blinds 25k/50k/5k ante

Martin Hanowski opened to 125,000 after action folded to him on the button. Jacob Naquin moved all-in from the small blind for 1,125,000 and Hanowski went into deep-thinking mode.

He seemed conflicted but eventually called with 8d8h and was happy to see Naquin’s 2c2s. The QdTs4s flop did little help for Naquin but he picked up a flush draw on the 7s turn. He blanked the 4h river to go out in 16th place for $59,865.

Championship: 17th Place – Farhan Madhani 3k1q5k

$5,300 Championship NLH $10 Million Guaranteed (Re-Entry)
Level 28: Blinds 25k/50k/5k ante

Farhan Madhani began the day with a comfortable stack but lost a big, early hand to Lenny Duvdivani without a showdown to drop him low.

He opened shoved from the button for his last stack and Natasha Barbour called from the big blind.

Madhani: 8d4h
Barbour: AdJs

Barbour moved further ahead on the Ah5d5c flop then locked up the hand with the Kc turn to send Madhani out in 17th spot for $59,865 while Barbour has moved over 2,800,000.

Championship: 18th Place – Ron Ostrow 5e6m6n

$5,300 Championship NLH $10 Million Guaranteed (Re-Entry)
Level 28: Blinds 25k/50k/5k ante

Ron Ostrow wasted no time trying to get more chips in the game. He was all-in on the very first hand of play against Lenny Duvdivani.

Ostrow was in trouble with 6s6h against JhJd and the KsQh7c flop didn’t help. The Js turn left Ostrow drawing dead to go out in 18th spot for $59,865.

Event 23: Pot Limit Omaha H/L Underway t4f2e

$250 Pot Limit Omaha 8B (Re-Entry)

Level 1:  Blinds 25/50

Today’s only new event is a one-day Pot Limit Omaha Hi/Lo tournament.  Players get 10,000 chips to start and levels are 30 minutes long.

Late registration and re-entry are available until the start of level 7 (about 3:15pm).  This is a one-day event, so they will play until a winner is determined.

Cards are in the air!

The penultimate day of the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open Championship is upon us with just 18 players left with a chance at the $1.4 million top prize.

John Dolan began Day 3 with the chip lead and finished the day in second. Martin Hanowski had a great run at the same time to grow his starting 1.8 million stack over 6 million, before he dropped slightly before dinner break. Hanowski was also responsible for ending play for the night when he sent Michael Stembera out in 19th place.

All 18 players are taking their seats and action will be underway in a moment. They will play until just six are left and they will come back to tomorrow for the PokerStars.tv live-streamed final table.
