Aditya Prasetyo

A rush of cards towards the end of the day vaulted Aditya Prasetyo into the chip lead as the $2,650 no-limit hold’em heads to its final table.

Prasetyo put 2,765,000 chips in the bag at the end of the night and just edged out veteran pro Shannon Shorr for the chip lead. Shorr bagged up 2,615,000 and will be seated on Prasetyo’s direct right.

The final table will kick off at 1 p.m. Tuesday afternoon with everyone guaranteed a cash of at least $23,335, but the eventual winner will walk away with $229,555.

Day 2 of the three-day event started at noon with 103 players in the field with the top 62 spots finishing in the money. Towards the end of the day’s second level, Zhen Cai’s A-J made quads against Dominque Mosley’s A-K to burst the bubble and secure the final 62 players a payday of at least $4,255.

Ray Qartomy started the day as the chip leader and held near the top of the leaderboard for most of the day. With 10 players left, Qartomy played a massive pot against Prasetyo, getting all in with a flush draw against Prasetyo’s pocket queens. Qartomy missed his draw and Prasetyo doubled up, knocking Qartomy from the top of the leaderboard.

Qartomy finished the day with 1,295,000 and will be in the middle of the pack when the final table restarts Tuesday afternoon. Mukul Pahuja, a longtime pro with two WSOP Circuit rings and north of $5.3 million in tournament earnings will start the day third in chips.

Local pro Victor Figueroa and Hard Rock regular David Shmuel are the only other players above the 1 million-chip mark. Dan Colpoys, James Miller and Steve Karp round out the bottom third of the chip counts.
