Up until Saturday, Event 15 started out looking like a standard multi-flight tournament. Then we had players coming from all over to take part in the tournament that already produced a prize pool of over $1,000,000.
There were just shy of 2,000 entries in the door between the last two flights of the tournament to set a record in the afternoon and shatter it in the evening. This tournament had the biggest $600 buy-in field in Florida poker history with 4,529 and it came up with a prize pool worth $2,377,725.
The six starting flights saw 568 players make it through to Day 2, already in the money, and they return today at 1 pm to start playing down to a winner with more than $350K waiting up top.
Zachary Eichenbaum had the biggest bag from Flight A and his lead held through the weekend with Marlen Sapazhanov (869,000), Ryan Jones (635,000), David Levy (626,000), and Tommy Tran (605,000) rounding out the top five.
It will be a long day of poker but they come into the day content that they are guaranteed to make some money from the very start.
