Bobby Bradley (Wellington, FL)

Hollywood, Fla. (January 14, 2016) – The first week of the 2016 Lucky Hearts Poker Open officially wrapped up with the conclusion of Event 4. The $350 Eight-Handed Pot Limit Omaha (Re-Entry) drew 119 entries and generated a prize pool of $35,700. After about 10 hours of play, a deal was reached between the final five players. The chip leader at the time was 35-year-old Bobby Bradley, giving him the official victory.

A former professional baseball player and first-round draft pick of the Pittsburgh Pirates, Bradley has always enjoyed poker and the mental challenge it provides.

“It was the Chris Moneymaker effect in 2003. A lot of us would play cards in spring training and we all just loved it. It’s similar to pitching, where you try to set up your hitters and keep them uncomfortable,” Bradley told us afterward.

These days, Bradley splits time between playing poker and being a golf entertainer. Work commitments will keep him from playing more events this series, but a Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino regular since 2006, he’ll be back for other series, especially when Pot Limit Omaha is on the schedule.

“You don’t often see too many Omaha events being played, so once I saw this on the schedule I knew I wanted to come out here and play. Glad we had some fun and that I was able to chop it with the guys. They were good players, and at the end of the day the blinds were getting really big, so I could have lost my chip lead at any point to be honest. Felt like a good business deal and we all made some money and had some fun.”
